“ This is cool spot, I honestly never Knew was here in the City of Newark for quite some time. The location is a tiny space but fills up with so many customers. If you are looking for a nice safe place away from the Hustle & Bustle of Newarks Downtown Life & want some real good coffee or tea. Definitely got to try paying a visit to the Black Swan, the place smells great walking in and the vibes are chill. Employees are cool, respectful and know how to throw down. Such yumminess with muffins, oatmeal, cheddar scones, good Salads and flavor packed sandwiches. ”
“ Went to check the place while in the area. It was such a nice vibe, especially since it was small and quaint. There’s not much seating but a few seats at the bar, but they had a few tables right outside. Loved my chai latte, and I got a mocha for on the go for my bf, and it was also really good. I saw a trainee make my drink, but I was very comforted by the (who I assume) owner or manager coach and guide the trainee. As a former barista hearing the right rationale to aerating milk, it made me trust the place even more to hear their reasoning and patience. Great spot for on the go. Would definitely come back if I’m in the area. ”

“ Great little cafe in the heart of Newark. Stopped in before my flight for an espresso and small snack. The blueberry muffin was amazing great ratio of blueberry to muffin. The espresso was also very good pretty standard blend. The toasted bagel with cream cheese was the best part. Not sure where they get their bagels but super good. The inside is nice with a small seating area as well as a nice outdoor seating area. Unfortunately no restroom. Great friendly staff. ”

I had the pleasure of enjoying their matcha and hot chocolate, both of which were absolutely delicious—rich, smooth, and perfectly crafted. The donut I paired with them was out of this world! A huge shoutout to Gigi, the barista on the bar, who was incredibly cool and dedicated. You could see her passion for ensuring each beverage was made to perfection, and it showed in every sip. “ Stopped by early Sunday morning for a cup of coffee. The young gentleman behind the counter was extremely polite, especially for being up early on a cold Sunday morning. He was very friendly and we started a conversation, turns out he's going to college for the same thing I did. I digress, I ordered two Christmas themed coffee drinks. One iced peppermint latte which was amazing. For my girlfriend a hot peppermint mocha coffee. Both enjoyed it very much. They are down in the University section of Newark and it looks like they're trying to open up a few shops and restaurants that the younger generation seem to enjoy. Definitely stop by the Black swan for your next caffeine fix! ”
